MINISAP is a full-fledged Basis SAP system without the SAP applications (FI, CO, MM, SD, HR etc.). i.e. MiniSAP contains only the basis core of SAP, without any modules or anything or MiniSAP is a downscaled version of SAP 4.6D. It is used primarily by those learning ABAP. MiniSAP can be installed on a normal, stand-alone PC. MSDE is used as database server, and is installed by the MiniSAP installation program. It has every Basis function of a standard SAP-R/3 system (ABAP/4 Development Workbench, Data Transfer Workbench, Computer Center Management System - CCMS, etc.) and, therefore, is a very good means to get exposed and trained in ABAP/4 programming language.
Another Definition of MiniSAP:
The Mini SAP Web Application Server 6.10 is a full SAP basis system, but without application areas suchas HR, SD, MM etc. Because it does have standard SAP development tools such as the developmentworkbench(SE80) you are able to develop and test new custom functionality including reports, transactions,Business Server Pages and ABAP Objects on your home PC. It has Full ABAP Stack functionality of mySAPTechnology SAP Server, GUI and SAPDB database.

Preliminary Remark
The Mini SAP Basis System is delivered on two CDs. The KERNEL CD contains the files for the Kernel and the Frontend (SAPGUI). The DATA CD contains the compressed contents of the SAP database.
You install the components of the SAP System in two steps. First you install the application server and the database system including the database data. Then you install the Frontend (SAPGUI). You only need to install the SAPGUI if you do not have a 4.6D SAPGUI on your PC.
The installation is, for the most part, self-explanatory. When you insert the KERNEL CD into the CD drive, an HTML file is automatically opened that displays a summary of this installation guide and references to additional information. If this does not happen, open the file
Installing Microsoft SQL Server 2000 During the installation of Mini SAP Basis System a runtime version of SQL Server will be installed.
